SCAPE - Short Film from Owen Prescott on Vimeo.

Initially the idea capturing this footage was to present my aquascape as if it was an experiment, I wanted to capture both the imperfections of the tank such as the algae growing on the glass, the lighting does not fit correctly, but also the beauty of the underwater environment. After filming though I noticed there was a transition and build of of motion, so I pieced together pieces of footage to create the short story. I am really pleased with this and please leave a comment if you like ‘Scape’. Thanks.

Autodesk Mudbox / Character Model 01 from Owen Prescott on Vimeo.

This is the first iteration of a portrait model and I working on. At the moment the plan is to create an ages non-human figure that has an element of horror and sci-fi. I might also model some armour in Google Sketchup and mold it around the character so I will use a diverse workflow for this project.

Liaoning Architectural Visualization / Lumion from Owen Prescott on Vimeo.

Full Project: owenprescott.com/portfolio/liaoning-architecture/

Architectural Design
The architectural design ethos behind this arch visualization was to create a large modern home which compliments it’s natural surroundings. [tweetable]My favourite feature in regards to this architectural design is the small trees, wild plants and natural grass turf which was added to the exterior roofing[/tweetable]. This addition adds to the immersion of the building whilst also creating a unique space that merges the exterior with the interior space.

Liaoning Landscape
Another element of this 3D architectural design is the open mountain landscape. Similar to the natural roofing on top of the building the idea behind the landscape design was to merge the natural sea with the architecture. The water surrounds and flows beneath the exterior to tie the overall scene together. In addition, the landscape itself is also inspired by the Liaoning area of Taiwan, an island of particular scenic beauty.

Making of Visualization
To create this project I have used a number of various digital tools to create the final visualizations. Initialy I worked in Google SketchUp which is my preferred 3D modelling program for architectural design. Once the 3D model was build, I then imported the model into the new ver.4 of Lumion3D. Once the materials were applying and the lanscape was created I simply rendered the images and accompanying animation fly-through. In addition I also made some slight adjustments to the images in Photoshop CS6.

Ancient Landscape Concept & Tut

As a fan and long time user of Terragen you can bet that I have many old landscape renders sitting in folders that unfortunately I have not put to use. In this project I decided to recycle some old rendered images through  with some post-processing in Photoshop. Rather than going for a photo-realistic look I decided to create a surreal ancient landscape painting style similar to a water colour…
